This you have to see!

If you are for a holiday in Chios, there are certain things that you should have seen before you leave. This applies for example the Byzantine monastery of Nea Moni, a place that is part of the World Heritage List of UNESCO for Greece. The almost deserted village Anavatos, located in the central part of the island, is also worth a visit. And the black pebble beach (lava) at Emborios in the south is a must. Nearby is also an important archaeological site. Also in the south you will find Pyrgi, one of the mastic villages. Pyrgi is unique by the beautiful black and white decorations on the facades of the houses. Furthermore you should definitely wander through the narrow, walled streets and alleys of the Kambos. Directly south of the capital, you will find this fertile plain with citrus trees and beautiful villas.
